Le 19 octobre 2023, le Conseil d' administration du Groupe de la Banque africaine de développement (BAD) a approuvé à Abidjan un donation of 2.5 million US dollars to Tanzania.

L'appui financier de la BAD comes from Global Agriculture and Food Security Program (GAFSP). This funding is intended for Food System Delivery Services in rural areas. It aims to increase the production and marketing of horticultural products by some 10,000 rural smallholders to counter the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic. The project receiving this financial support will be implemented in four regions. These are the Morogoro Rural District, the Mvomero District in the Morogoro Region; the Wanging'ombe District, in the Njombe Region; and the Kaskazini 'A' and Kaskazini 'B' Districts in Unguja in Zanzibar. It targets five horticultural value chains, including spices (cloves, cinnamon, ginger, black pepper, garlic), tomatoes, green peas, green beans, and potatoes
