The prosecutor requested 20 years in prison against him last Tuesday.
Magistrate Ahmed Ould Moustapha indicated that “all the elements in the hands of justice prove the constitution of a crime.” For the latter, “Mohamed Ould Abdel Aziz has accumulated a very large fortune that his legal income cannot justify. He carried out commercial activities that were incompatible with his functions as President of the Republic. All of this constitutes illicit enrichment condemned by law.”
