In order to finance the project to rehabilitate sports infrastructures in preparation for the Dakar 2026 Youth Olympic Games (Joj), the Minister of Economy, Planning and Cooperation of Senegal, Doudou Ka and Ms. Amélie Oudéa-Castéra, Minister of Sports, carried out the signing of an important agreement last Monday, November 6.

The Ministry of the Economy of Senegal indicated in a press release that the financing worth 15 million euros “is in addition to the first installment signed on November 04, 2022 between the State of Senegal and AFD - French Development Agency, which amounted to 45 million euros to support the first Olympic event ever organized on the African continent. At the heart of this agreement is the importance of cooperation between Senegal and France, in particular for the organization and success of the next Youth Olympic Games (YOJ) 2026.” The Youth 2026 will see the participation of nearly 4,676 athletes, 50% of whom will be women, according to the ministry
