In order to implement the first phase of the Governance and Economic Diversification Support Programme, the Board of Directors of the African Development Bank Group granted a loan of 92 million euros & agrave; the Republic of the Congo. The agreement was reached last Friday, November 17.

The objective of the Governance and Economic Diversification Support Programme is to strengthen the resilience of the Congolese economy and reduce its dependence on the oil sector, while ensuring that the imperatives of growth and the fight against climate change. According to the Director General of the African Development Bank in Central Africa, Serge N'Guessan, “the implementation of the program will focus on the effectiveness of public investments and the modernization of the governance of public enterprises. It will promote the diversification of Congo's economy and promote productive sectors by strengthening competitiveness factors and promoting natural resources that have hitherto been underexploited

The program is part of a vision to support the diversification of the Congolese economy and to strengthen its competitiveness by improving the business environment, supporting reforms in the electricity sector and the development of productive sectors.
