It was on Thursday, November 16, 2023, that the Senate Committee on Research, Science, Technology and the Environment (CRSTE) unanimously voted on a new Code for the Protection of the Environment.

Jacques Assahoré Konan, the brand new Minister of the Environment, Sustainable Development and Ecological Transition, successfully presented to senators the new code that took into account the management of all the shortcomings noted. For the emissary of President Alassane Ouattara, this bill containing the Environmental Code aims to introduce into the Ivorian legal system new principles, rights, challenges and tools for protecting the environment. This new text also identifies major environmental issues.
