Le mercredi 22 novembre 2023 était l' occasion du lancement officiel de la 11 Â é Edition of the Forum of Customs Agents of UEMOA (West African Economic and Monetary Union). The activities are launched by the Director of the Office of the Minister of State, in charge of the Economy and Finances Hermann Orou Takou at the Blue Room of the Cotonou Convention Center

La 11 Edition é of the UEMOA Customs Officers Forum is a customs forum, a initiative of the customs administrations of the member countries of the West African Economic Organization. This exchange platform allows UEMOA customs officials to exchange best practices as well as innovative policies that will contribute to improving the delivery of their services. The work of this meeting revolves around the theme: “the modernization of surveillance services in the face of new cross-border crimes”. According to the Commissioner for Regional Market and Cooperation of the UEMOA Commission, Filiga Michel Sawadogo, new types of cross-border crime represent a real existential challenge for UEMOA states. And it will be necessary to adapt in order to rise to these challenges that arise. For the latter, it is first necessary to identify new types of crime and their operating methods in order to develop their geopolitics. And develop and implement strategies for strong republics using cutting-edge technologies.
