Cissé Aboubakari indicated that a total of 160 billion FCFA in property taxes were collected by the Directorate General of Taxes halfway through a goal of reaching 170 billion in 2023. According to the latter, “it is not external resources that will develop our countries. Our countries will develop from internal resources. We have the people, we have the capabilities, we have the vision.” It notes 614,000 cadastered plots, with nearly 500,000 property tax taxpayers and a potential around 1,500,000 taxable plots. Noted that every year, the General Directorate of Taxation organizes a communication campaign and outreach to the declaration and payment of property tax, a mass tax. This awareness-raising action, implemented in collaboration with the Land Registry, is part of the framework of optimizing the increase in tax revenues in general and property taxes in particular
