At the end of the International Conference on Public Finance Reforms held in Abidjan, African states adopted a joint declaration on sharing good practices in public finance reform. This declaration is called the “Abidjan Declaration”

The adopted joint declaration called on States to make the statistical system meet the criteria of completeness, reliability, availability and dissemination and called on the budgetary process of African states to meet performance and transversality requirements, through the inclusion of gender and climate change. During the international conference, the participants called for the creation of a regional institute of African expertise whose purpose is to pool best practices, methods and tools, and to contribute to the emergence of experts with recognized expertise in their themes, which can be mobilized in peer-to-peer exchanges
