The National Academy of Sciences, Arts and Letters of Benin (Ansalb) organized a conference on Friday, December 15, 2023, to enlighten policy makers and to promote academic exchange. Placed on the theme of “Issues and Challenges of Cryptocurrencies in Benin”, this meeting places particular emphasis on the legal and legal framework.

The first axis of the conference explores the basics of cryptography and blockchain. Experienced speakers shared their knowledge about these fundamental technologies, thus laying the foundations for understanding the evolution of cryptocurrencies in Benin. The second axis highlights the legal and legal framework for cryptocurrencies in Benin. It was then that the participants had the opportunity to hear the Doctor of Law, Julien Comlan HOUNKPE on details about the current regulations and the challenges associated with this new form of money. Finally, the third axis of the conference explored the current reality of cryptocurrencies in the Beninese context. The Academy seeks to play a key role in offering solutions and recommendations for the secure and informed use of these new forms of money.
