During the exchanges, Bertrand TRASTOUR, Managing Director of Kaspersky in West Africa, notified that 411,000 files were distributed every day by cybercriminals in 2023, representing an increase of 3% compared to 2022. Continuing with his statements, he also revealed that Kaspersky detected nearly 125 million malicious files in 2023, shedding light on the scale of the threat. Redda Ben GELOUNE, CEO of AITEK warned about the dramatic increase in targeted attacks in Africa. The figures reveal an alarming proportion, rising from 19.9% to a worrying proportion at the beginning of the

year.

Redda Ben GELOUNE listed the recent cyberattacks that affected the websites of Senegalese and Cameroonian governments, as well as the BCEAO. He also pointed out that new challenges no longer necessarily manifest themselves in armed clashes, but rather in cybersecurity battles.
