In a joint statement published on Wednesday, February 21, 2024, seven African multilateral financial institutions announced the launch of a “strategic alliance”. This will allow them to better meet the continent's development financing needs and defend its interests on global financial issues.

The Alliance of African Multilateral Financial Institutions/AAMFI), is a platform that brings together seven founding members. These are AFC, AfreximBank, the Trade and Development Bank (TDB), the African Reinsurance Corporation (Africa Re), the African Reinsurance Corporation (Africa Re), the African Re, the African Trade & Investment Development Insurance (ATIDI), the African Reinsurance Corporation (Africa Re), the African Reinsurance Corporation (Africa Re), the African Reinsurance Corporation (Africa Re), the African Trade & Investment Development Insurance (ATIDI), the African Reinsurance Corporation (Africa Re), the African Reinsurance Corporation (Africa Re), the African Reinsurance Corporation (Africa Re), the African Trade & Investment Development Insurance (ATIDI), the African Reinsurance Corporation (Africa Re), the African Reinsurance Common reinsurance of the Member States of the Common Market of Eastern and Southern Africa (ZEP-RE style="font-family: "Bookman Old Style”, "serif">). It is committed to “fostering collaboration, cooperation and coordination in order to stimulate sustainable economic development and contribute to the financial autonomy of the continent”, and to “strengthening continental integration in line with the African Union's Agenda 2063 and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals
