The Burkinabe government officially launched the Entrepreneurship, Skills Development and Technological Adoption Support Project (ECOTEC) on Friday, March 15, 2024 in Ouagadougou, the Project to Support Entrepreneurship, Skills Development and Technological Adoption (ECOTEC). The objective is to facilitate access to finance for Micro-Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises (MPMs), in a context of difficult security crisis in the country

With a duration of 6 years, the Project to Support Entrepreneurship, Skills Development and Technological Adoption aims to reach 18,000 students and learners across the country. The project is financed at 105,825,603,836 FCFA including 98,983,911,300 FCFA by the World Bank and 6,841,692,536 FCA by the Burkinabe State

According to the Minister in charge of Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs), Serge Poda, ECOTEC was specifically designed to support SMEs, in order to open up new growth opportunities for them.

“ECOTEC will contribute to creating an environment conducive to business and the promotion of green investments, through the support and financing of more than 2,000 SMEs”, added Minister Serge Poda.

The beneficiaries of the project are among others, entrepreneurs, SMEs, students, learners, teachers/instructors, trainers/facilitators, trainers/facilitators, master artisans, master artisans, master artisans, industrial associations, partner companies and formal and non-formal training structures.
