For a case of fraudulent practices, the company China Henan International Cooperation Group Company Limited was excluded on Thursday, March 28, 2024 by the African Development Bank (ADB) group.

The Bank Group Integrity and Anti-Corruption Bureau reported following an investigation that China Henan International Cooperation Group Company Limited engaged in a fraudulent practice by failing to disclose the use of a commission agent when submitting a tender in connection with of a call for tenders. There is talk of the award of civil engineering works to bring the Rukungiri-Kihihi-Ihasha/Kanungu road up to bitumen standards, a component of the Uganda Road Sector Support Project. During the exclusion period, the group and some of its subsidiaries will not be allowed to participate in Bank Group tenders.
