In 2023, Togolese debt service increased from 504 billion FCFA in 2022 to 706 billion FCFA, according to data from the Ministry of Economy and Finance at the end of 2023. This dynamic reflects in part the economic developments of the last two years on the Uemoa regional market, against the background of tightening global financial conditions. Debt service includes all payments made by the State to repay the interest and principal of its debt, both external and domestic (including fees and other costs associated with borrowing).
