For the first quarter of 2024, private equity investment flows targeting Africa reached $3.52 billion for a total of 150 transactions.

The figures for the first quarter of 2024 show a decrease of 52.9% in value and 54.7% in the number of transactions respectively compared to the same period in 2023. From a more global perspective, the first quarter of 2024 remains in line with previous performances (2017 to 2023). The average transaction values reached approximately $23.47 million, the best performance since 2018 and above 2023. The total value of transactions during this period is also close to the average of the last 8 years (3.87 billion dollars)

South Africa, Nigeria, Kenya, Egypt and Morocco are among the main recipient markets for investments.
