The official inauguration of the Beninese pavilion took place on Thursday, April 18, at the Arsenale in Venice.

Benin installs its pavilion on an area of 320 m² at the Artiglierie in the Arsenale. The country marks its first participation in the international exhibition of the Venice Biennale in Italy. This is a great advance in the promotion and valorization of contemporary Beninese art. The exhibition from Benin is entitled “Everything precious is fragile”. According to the Minister of Tourism, Culture and Arts, “the slogan dedicated to this pavilion, “Everything Precious is fragile”, sounds like a call for vigilance and recognition of the richness of our initiative, which brings promise and future.” The Minister of Tourism, Culture and Arts and the President of the Venice Biennale Pietrangelo Buttafuoco cut the ribbon in the presence of the General Delegate of the José Pliya Pavilion and the curator Azu Nwagbogu

noted that the 60th Venice International Art Biennial in Italy is taking place from April 20 to November 24, 2024. The Beninese pavilion is open from Tuesday to Sunday from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
