In order to overcome the high youth unemployment rate in Africa, it is important to focus on youth entrepreneurship. This is precisely the reason for the establishment of the competition initiative Africa's Business Heroes, whose priesthood is to promote the talents of young people

Carine Vavasseur or the ecosystem builder is fighting to promote youth entrepreneurship in Senegal and everywhere else in Africa. Indeed, the Africa's Business Heroes (ABH) competition, for which she plays a leading role, represents an impacting platform to highlight African talents and connect them with opportunities on a continental and international scale. According to Carine Vavasseur, ABH is an exceptional showcase for African entrepreneurs, by offering them media visibility - through video reports on their entrepreneurial journey, for example - and recognition of their achievements and impacts. It also facilitates the connection of entrepreneurs with a diverse network of business actors, investors, development experts, and thought leaders across the continent. For the competition, several actors from the African ecosystem and beyond were mobilized, either as judges or as mentors. Jack Ma, president and founder of Alibaba, was present at the final of the competition in 2020

For this edition, the ABH takes place in 4 key stages. The first stage will be about the online submission and the 50 Heroes section. In the second, an online interview of the 50 and selection of the 20 semi-finalists is planned. The third stage is the semi-final with the 20 Heroes: in-person selection pitch, selection of 10 heroes for the final. And the last step is the in-person final of the 10 and selection of the 3 winners
