During the first three months of the year, the Franco-Dutch airline AirFrance-KLM recorded an operating loss of 522 million euros, despite an increase in flight traffic.

AirFrance-KLM presents less impressive results for the first quarter of 2024. At 522 million euros against 344 million in the first three months of 2023, the net loss (share of the Franco-Dutch group) is even greater than expected by financial analysts, even if the period has traditionally proved to be low for airlines based in Europe. The company maintained its annual financial objectives, with solid bookings for the summer period, despite this loss representing more than half of the record annual profit in 2023 (934 million euros)

Between January and March, the company was pleased to have carried 6.2% more passengers than at the same time in 2023, i.e. 20.8 million, and saw its revenue per traveller increase, for total turnover up by 5.1% to 6.7 billion euros.
