The Australian Resolute Mining announced on April 30 that the Syama gold mines in Mali and Mako in Senegal recorded a drop in production.

Australian Resolute Mining is aiming for a maximum production of 365,000 ounces (10.3 tons) of gold on these two African operations. Resolute Mining's gold production fell 17% year on year to 76,351 ounces of gold. Syama delivered 48,459 ounces in the first quarter of 2024, up from 58,655 ounces a year earlier, a drop close to 17% year-on-year. The rest of the production is obtained from the Mako gold mine in Senegal. The latter also saw its yield fall by 2%, from 33,604 ounces of gold in the first quarter of 2023 to 27,892 ounces a year later
