Le lundi 20 mai dernier, a eu lieu la signature d' une convention de financement entre le ministre de The economy and sustainable development, Abdesselam Ould Mohamed Saleh and the representative Deputy of the World Bank in Mauritania, H.E. Cristina Santos.

L'Association International Development Agency (IDA) has granted funding to Mauritania as part of the second additional financing of the Social Protection System Support Project (PSSS). The financial coverage of this financing is 19,700,000,000 SDR, or approximately one billion and twenty-five million (1,025,000,000) MRU. This funding aims to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the national social protection system by working on components, including updating the social register and promoting its use, supporting the socio-economic inclusion of poor households through strengthening and expanding the “Tekavoul” cash transfer program, and supporting the climate crisis response mechanism.
It will also allow the expansion of the beneficiaries of the national social protection system at the national level until 2025 and the integration of refugees on the national territory.
