The board of directors, management and staff of United Bank for Africa (UBA) Plc were commended by shareholders for the impressive performance achieved over the past few years and in particular in 2023.

UBA peaked with the payment of 78.7 billion naira as a final dividend for fiscal year 2023. At the bank's 62nd Annual General Meeting held on Friday at the Transcorp Hotels Convention Center in Abuja, shareholders approved by an overwhelming majority the Board's proposal to raise additional capital through the issuance of securities including ordinary shares, preference shares, convertible and/or non-convertible notes, bonds or any other instrument on the Nigerian and/or international capital market

During the period under review, UBA declared an interim dividend of 17.1 billion naira representing a payment of 50 kobo per share for the first half of 2023, bringing the total dividend for fiscal year 2023 to 95.8 billion naira, or 2.80 naira per share.
