The World Bank and the International Monetary Fund (IMF

) indicated in a statement published on Monday, July 1, 2024, that the former Ivorian Prime Minister, Patrick Achi, will be part of a group of experts trained by the two institutions.

Patrick Achi is a former minister, secretary general of the presidency, then Prime Minister of Côte d'Ivoire from 2021 to 2023. He was seen as a potential successor to President Ouattara, who was removed from office in October 2023. Nevertheless, he retained his position as president of the regional council of La Mé (located in southern Côte d'Ivoire). In a context where the World Bank and the FMI are seeking to strengthen their actions towards poor countries, the profile of Patrick Achi, who participated in the development of the national development plan for the Cô and Ivory Coast, should allow the two institutions to have an African vision of the changes that the économie world will experience in the coming years
