Mastercard and GIM-UEMOA have signed a historic partnership in order to intensify joint efforts to accelerate financial inclusion in the member countries of the West African Economic and Monetary Union (UEMOA).

Mastercard is a global technology company and international payment scheme. Its agreement with GIM-UEMOA represents a transformative initiative to stimulate innovation in digital payment in the region and create an inclusive financial environment for the benefit of the UEMOA population. This collaboration will allow GIMUEMOA to unlock new potentials with its affiliated banks to offer a wide range of benefits to stakeholders and will provide businesses and consumers with better access to advanced prepaid and debit card offerings as well as innovative digital payment solutions
