The chairman of the Independent Commission on Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences (ICPC) assured that the commission was ready to join forces with the state's legislative branch to fight corruption.

Musa Aliyu, President of ICPC expressed the commission's determination to sanction corrupt state legislatures when it opened a three-day capacity building workshop for Jigawa State legislators in Abuja. The workshop focuses on the theme “Transparency and Accountability: Effective Legislative Tools for Successful Mandate Execution”. The President of ICPC, who expressed concern about the level of corruption in the country, emphasized the need for legislators to live in transparency and to be seen as such in all their public and private functions. According to him, the commission was ready to join forces with the legislative branch of the State to fight corruption.
