During the month of May 2024, the CFA franc recorded an increase of 11.4% compared to its value of the previous month.

The CFA franc strengthened in line with its appreciation against the naira (+13.4%), the cedi (+6.1%), the Liberian dollar (+2.0%), the Liberian dollar (+2.0%), the Guinean franc (+2.0%), the Guinean franc (+0.5%) and the Gambian dalasi (+0.1%). Over the same period, the currency of the UEMOA countries lost 0.6% of its value against the Sierra Leonean Leone. The CFA franc appreciated by 126.7% in annual variation, compared to the currencies of other West African countries. The currency of the countries of the eurozone strengthened by 2.1% against the Japanese yen, by 0.8% against the American dollar and the Canadian dollar, and by 0.7% against the Swiss franc.
