The director general of the port of Tanit, Ahmed Ould Khatri, underlined the importance of the inauguration of this factory. It is located on an area of 6000 square meters, with a financial investment of 56 million MRU, including a large fish unloading hall, a processing hall, 5 freezing channels with a capacity of 70 tons per day, two ice production units with a capacity of 30 tons per day, and 4 warehouses for the preservation of the final product with a capacity of more than 1000 tons, in addition to administrative offices, housing for workers and other service facilities, providing 20 permanent jobs and over 300 temporary jobs depending on factory conditions.

This factory “reflects the usefulness of the incentives granted to investors, namely the ease of access to land likely to host projects in this cluster, at a preferential price of no more than 4.2 ouguiyas per square meter per month and the total exemption from customs duties for all equipment and supplies imported as part of the construction of projects built in the development hub.” He said that among these incentives was the total exemption from corporate tax for eight years from the date of operation of the company in the Tanit Port Development Hub, stressing that the inauguration of this factory coincides with the first anniversary of his management of the port, which he considered to be a short period of time and rich
