The French Development Agency (AFD) has decided to renew the mandate of the Minka Peace and Resilience Fund this year to continue efforts to strengthen resilience and prevent conflicts in contexts fragile. To this end, it granted more than 1.2 billion EUR in favour of 175 Minka operations in 4 priority crisis areas

The Sahel region, the Lake Chad region, the Central African Republic and the Middle East are areas affected by EFD's investment. Indeed, since its creation in 2017, the Minka Fund has contributed to addressing the factors and consequences of conflicts in order to consolidate peace before, during and after crises, by adopting an approach combining humanitarian, development and peace research (HDP) that calls for greater cooperation between humanitarian, development and peace actors (HDP) that calls for greater cooperation between humanitarian, development and peace actors at the territorial level. It also aims to increase project efficiency through flexible procedures and project management processes that allow for rapid response.
