Dans le but de faire plus de progrès en matière de lutte anti-blanchiment et financement du terrorisme, le Groupe Financial Action Committee (Gafi) recommends that the Indian authorities strengthen the control of politically exposed persons (PEPs). To this end, the FATF recommends tighter control of the source of funds in PEP accounts, and requires senior bank managers to approve any new account opening for them or their families. The organization is asking the continental giant “to improve due diligence on the bank accounts of local politicians, government officials and their families” according to information published on August 9 by the news group Reuters.
