The managers of the Sheikh Ahmadoul Khadim Complex for Education and Training (CCAK-EF) aim to create an oil and gas institute. The intention is to prepare young people to play an important role in the exploitation of hydrocarbon resources discovered in Senegal.

The president of the CCAK-EF, Ahmadou Badawi Mbacké indicated that the Institute of Oil and Gas is part of the projects of Sheikh Ahmadoul Khadim University (CCAK- EF) to allow students to be main actors in the execution of decisions to be made in the near future concerning the gas and oil professions. According to him, the country's natural resources are entrusted to foreigners while Senegal is full of young people who must focus on this sector. “This is why we have the ambition to soon create an oil and gas institute to train young people capable of positioning themselves in the exploitation of these resources for the benefit of populations,” he said. The latter indicated that, “the institute will train young Senegalese in several dozen jobs related to oil and gas to enable our country to better take advantage of these resources” in order to promote its socio-economic development.
