Le Conseil Federal executive, under the leadership of President Bola Tinubu, had approved the sale of crude oil to local refineries in Naira and the corresponding purchase of petroleum products in Naira. The committee said that “beginning on 1 October, the NNPC will begin supplying approximately 385 kbpd (385,000 barrels per day) of crude oil to the Dangote refinery, paid in nairas.” The special advisor to the president of FIRS, Dare Adekanmbi confirmed that the chairman of the technical subcommittee, Zacch Adedeji, is working day and night to ensure that everything goes according to plan. “He knows how important it is that the agreement is implemented as planned for the good of Nigerians.” According to him, the NNPC must supply approximately 11.5 million barrels of crude oil to the Dantote refinery per month and, based on the agreement, the plant will release equivalent volumes of refined diesel and gasoline to the domestic market also
