The Sovereign Wealth Fund for Strategic Investments (FONSIS), via its Islamic Recovery Fund, has allocated an envelope of five (5) billion CFA francs to Taysir Finance. This financing aims to support Senegalese small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) by offering them access to finance at the best market conditions, with an attractive rate of

5.5%.

This initiative aims to boost the resumption of SME activities, stimulate job creation and promote economic growth. It is part of FONSIS' mission to support the development of SMEs/SMIs and to strengthen entrepreneurship in

Senegal.

The Islamic Recovery Fund, endowed with 20 billion FCFA, was launched by FONSIS in partnership with the Islamic Development Bank (BID) and the State of Senegal. It provides both capital and debt to finance SMEs through partner banking institutions. With this new collaboration, Taysir Finance becomes the third partner, alongside the Islamic Bank of Senegal and Coris Bank Baraka, to commit to this initiative in favor

of SMEs.

Mr. Babacar Gning, CEO of FONSIS, said: “This partnership with Taysir Finance illustrates our desire to co-develop, with banks and financial institutions, innovative solutions adapted to the needs of the private sector. Investing in SMEs is a strategic priority for FONSIS because of the significant impact that this can have on job creation and the modernization of the Senegalese economy.

Mr. Adama Cissé, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Taysir Finance, added: “We are delighted to contribute to this initiative which strengthens our capacity to support SMEs and the informal sector, especially through microfinance. This partnership with FONSIS will allow us to better meet the financing needs of SMEs while strengthening their capacity to absorb investments.

This partnership symbolizes the commitment of both institutions to promote inclusive and responsible finance, respecting the principles of Islamic finance.
