Dakar abrite depuis lundi un atelier de validation du cadre de suivi et d' évaluation du programme Unique identification for regional integration and inclusion in West Africa (WURI).

The workshop, which focuses on the development of community action on electronic identification and accessibility of services in ECOWAS, will review the progress made in implementing the programme since the last meeting and will discuss priorities for the fourth quarter of 2024. According to Aziz Dossou, session president and regional coordinator of the WURI program, “this project aims to provide an identity document recognized by the government” to the populations of five countries: Côte d'Ivoire, Burkina Faso, Faso, Togo, Benin, Togo and Niger. The WURI program aims to “increase the number of people in participating countries who have proof of identity recognized by the government and that facilitates their access to services in and between participating countries” according to Aziz Dossou.
