American gold futures rose 0.6% to $2,754.30. Spot gold rose 0.7% to $2,739.81 per ounce at 12:25pm ET (16:25 GMT) after reaching a record high of $2,744.08 earlier in the session. Considered as a protection against geopolitical and economic uncertainty, gold has gained over 32% this year, reaching several records. Lower interest rates are also increasing the attractiveness of holding gold
