L'Etat béninois effectue depuis le 13 janvier 2025 une offre public auction (OPV) for the benefit of the general public of its 17,558,979 shares that it holds in the capital of the International Bank for Industry and Commerce ( BIIC) whose head office is located in Cotonou

.

The BIIC was identified as the second structure with solid fundamentals for a successful stock market listing, after the Benin National Lottery, the first public company to be listed on the BRVM in 2024, for an initial capitalization of 96 billion CFA francs. In fact, the number of shares subject to the OPV represents between 30.4 and 40% of the Beninese State's participation in the capital of the BIIC. The OPV was split into two parts. First, 8,779,450 shares, or 50% of the OPV, will be offered to Beninese natural and legal persons residing in Benin who do not reside in Benin. Secondly, 8,779,450 shares will also be offered to non-Beninese natural and legal persons, i.e. 50% of the OPV. The sale price of the share is 5 250 FCFA. The state of Benin hopes to collect between 92.2 billion FCFA and 121.3 billion FCFA at the end of the operation
