The Dirham appreciated by 0.18% against the euro and depreciated by 0.43% against the dollar during the period from 16 to 22 January during the period from 16 to 22 January, according to Bank Al-Maghrib (BAM).

During this period, no auction transactions were carried out on the foreign exchange market, states BAM in its weekly bulletin.

On the interbank market, the average daily trade volume was 2.4 billion DH and the interbank rate was 2.50% on average.

During the call for tenders on 22 January (value date 23 January), the Bank injected an amount of MAD 55.1 billion in the form of 7-day advances.

On the stock market, MASI fell by 1.9%, bringing its performance since the beginning of the year to 6.8%. This weekly change in particular reflects declines of 4% for the “Agri-Food” index, 2.6% for the “Buildings and Construction Materials” index and 1.8% for the “Banks”

index.

As for the weekly trading volume, from one week to the next, it rose from MAD 2.6 billion to nearly MAD 2.9 billion, almost all of which was carried out on the central equity market.
