AngloGold Ashanti announced on Wednesday, February 19, gold production of 2.66 million ounces in 2024, compared to 2.64 million ounces in 2023. This 1% increase was held back by the Iduapriem mines in Ghana and the Kibali mines in the DRC

.

AngloGold Ashanti announced a decline of 12% and 10% respectively year-on-year, with 237,000 ounces delivered by Iduapriem and 309,000 ounces by Kibali (on an attributable basis). Production at the Geita mine in Tanzania also fell slightly, from 485,000 ounces in 2023 to 483,000 ounces in 2024, as at Obuasi in Ghana (221,000 ounces in 2024 against 224,000 ounces in 2023). The continent accounts for 59% of the group's gold production, compared to 41% for Australian and American mines.
