Bank Al-Maghrib (BAM), the Dirham appreciated by 0.3% against the American dollar and depreciated by 0.4% against the euro, during the period from 13 to 19 February.

During this period, no auction transactions were carried out on the foreign exchange market, says Bank Al-Maghrib in its weekly bulletin.

As of February 14, 2025, official reserve assets stood at 368.6 billion dirhams (BMDH), down 0.1% from one week to the next and up 3.1% year-on-year, the same source said.

During this period, the volume of BAM interventions was increased to MAD 148.8 billion on a daily average, divided between 7-day advances for an amount of MAD 67 billion as well as pensions delivered over a longer term and guaranteed loans for amounts of MAD 51.3 billion and MAD 30.5 billion respectively.

On the interbank market, the average daily trade volume increased to MAD 1.7 billion and the interbank rate stood at 2.5% on average.

During the call for tenders on 19 February (value date on 20 February), the Bank injected an amount of MAD 60.7 billion in the form of 7-day advances.

On the stock market, MASI appreciated by 2.9%, bringing its performance since the beginning of the year to 14.2%.

This evolution reflects in particular increases of 3.8% for the “Banks” index, 3.3% for the “Buildings and Construction Materials” index, 6.1% for “Buildings and Construction Materials”, 6.1% for “Transport Services” and 10.2% for “Mines”.

Pour ce qui est du volume hebdomadaire des échanges, il est revenu, d' une semaine à l' autre, de 2,8 MMDH à 2,4 MMDH, réalisé principalement sur le marché central .
