A grant agreement worth 44.9 million US dollars was signed between the African Development Bank (ADB) and Chad on 19 February 2025. This agreement is part of the asphalt project for the Kyabé-Mayo section of the Kyabé-Singako

road.

The work on the 49.5 kilometer Kyabé-Mayo road section will also include the construction of a 55-meter bridge. The financing will make it possible to implement one of the Chadian government's objectives on the creation of large-scale and structuring infrastructures to support the development of the country. According to the Minister of State for Finance, Budget, Economy, Economy, Planning and International Cooperation, Tahir Hamid Nguilin, “the [Moyen Chari] region including Kyabé, Singako and Am Timan, is an area with high economic potential. It is Chad's first agricultural basin, a major breeding area, also rich in fishery resources, which supplies fish to a large part of the south of the country and even to foreign markets

.”

In reality, the asphalt of the road will in particular make it possible to open up the southern and eastern regions of Chad, to mitigate vulnerability and to strengthen the resilience of target populations, especially women and young people. It will also improve the conditions for transporting goods and people between Kyabé and Singako by developing a road that can be used in all seasons, and facilitate the flow of agricultural and agropastoral products from the rich areas of Moyen Chari and Salamat to the consumption centers of Sarh, Moundou, N'Djamena or Abéché
