Une délégation de la Bank of Central African States (BEAC) led by the governor of the institution, le Centrafricain Yvon Sana Bangui a entamé Monday, March 10, 2025 a tour of the presidential palaces of CEMAC (Cameroon, Congo, Gabon, Gabon, Gabon, Gabon, Equatorial Guinea, Equatorial Guinea, Chad and CAR). The aim is to present to the community concerned the new range of coins to be put into circulation in the near future.

The release of the new coin range is expected to be released in the 2nd trimestre 2025, notamment au mois d ' April, after the meeting of the Ministerial Committee of the Central African Monetary Union (UMAC). In reality, coins have become increasingly rare in the CEMAC zone in recent years. According to the monetary authorities, this rarity is caused by the birth of export channels for certain pieces, especially to Asia, where they are melted and transformed into jewelry. Thus, BEAC decided to reinforce the security of these parts by producing a new range, this time made from raw materials, in order to put an end to these fraudulent practices

Le 24 février 2025, à la télévision tchadienne, le gouverneur de la BEAC a indiqué que “les metals and alloys that have been used for this new range will make it possible to guarantee its safety, compared to the export of the parts we know in the zone, because the alloys and metals (of the current range) have a much higher market value than the coins themselves. We have corrected this problem and hope that the new coins will be accepted by the population, this time with an innovation that is the 200 FCFA coin.”
