Le dollar américain wobbling, while the Australian dollar is rising. The Indian rupee is expected to rise and the yuan is hovering near its lowest

level in two weeks.

The dollar was drifting on Wednesday, as weak U.S. confidence data and concerns about the effect of tariffs on U.S. growth put a brake on its recent rebound. After briefly crossing the 150 yen mark, the dollar floated to 150.55 yen during the Asian session, but traders lacked conviction as a messy week of tariffs loomed on the horizon

.

The Australian dollar was slightly higher on Wednesday as the risks of US tariffs pushed the greenback down, leading traders to look beyond a weak local reading of inflation and the government's pre-election budget that preceded saw a deficit.

The New Zealand dollar was a bit firmer at $0.5750.

The Chinese yuan stagnated on Wednesday at a level close to its lowest level in two weeks against the dollar, under pressure from concerns about the economic impact of American tariffs and the threat of additional tariffs on Chinese goods. As of 03:00 GMT, the yuan was down 0.07% to 7.2643 per dollar, its weakest level since March 10. The offshore yuan traded at 7.2712 yuan to the dollar, down by about 0.06% in Asian

trade.

The Indian rupee is expected to open higher on Wednesday following weak U.S. consumer confidence data that heightened concerns about the American economic trajectory.

The 1-month undeliverable futures contract indicated that the rupee would open at 85.62 to 85.64 against the US dollar against 85.7550 in the previous session.
