The Minister of Mines announced that Côte d'Ivoire signed in Abidjan memoranda of agreements for cooperation in the fields of energy and mining with American companies. Signed on Wednesday, May 14, this partnership provides for investments of up to nearly 7 billion dollars.

Two memorandums of understanding were signed on Wednesday on the sidelines of a business summit of the American Chamber of Commerce in Abidjan. According to Mamadou Sangafowa Coulibaly, Ivorian Minister of Mines, Petroleum and Energy, these memorandums can lead to “nearly 4,000 billion CFA francs (6.8 billion USD) in investments”. The most important, more than 3,000 billion FCFA (5.1 billion USD), concerns the construction of a second oil refinery as part of a partnership between the Société Ivoirienne de Raffinerie (SIR) and the American company Yaatra. A third other memorandum of understanding was signed with the company Sun Africa before the American Chamber of Commerce business summit on Wednesday in Abidjan. It's about energy. Sun Africa is an American company specialized in solar energy.
