A bulletin published on Saturday by the National Institute of Statistics and Demography (INSTAD) mentions that the harmonized consumer price index in Benin fell by 0.3% in July to 102.9 from 103.2 a month earlier.

The INSTAD newsletter indicates that the fall in consumer prices is mainly due to the 0.7% decrease in food and non-alcoholic drink prices, as well as to the 0.8% drop in the prices of restaurants and accommodation services.

Underlying inflation, i.e. inflation calculated by excluding the disruptive effects of seasonal and energy products, was 101.1 in July compared to 101.5 in June.

According to the origin of the products, the prices of imported products remained stable, while those of local products fell by 0.5% over one month, the bulletin says. For INSTAD, the annual average inflation rate remained at +1.1% at the end of July 2025, i.e. the same level as

in June.
