The United States has published its annual report on terrorism in the world. The US State Department welcomes the Algerian vision, with a very positive tone, on all the efforts made by our country. The report covers the year 2018, recalls Algeria's long experience in the fight against this scourge and "the significant efforts" it devotes to securing its own territory and borders. He highlighted the strategy pursued in the fight against violent extremism and terrorist propaganda as well as the assistance it provides to its southern neighbors to strengthen their own capacities. The Department also notes the measures taken by Algeria with regard to the establishment of cooperation and close coordination mechanisms with Tunisia, on their common border in the fight against terrorism. Regarding the fight against the financing of terrorism, the same source notes that Algeria is a member of MENAFAT (regional FATF) and the Egmont Group and is showing progress in the fight against this scourge. In terms of regional and international cooperation, the report recalls Algeria's commitment at the global level, of the GCTF, AFRIPOL and INTERPOL. Finally, the report notes the positive cooperation engaged in the Malian conflict and the support for the political peace process in Libya. He ends by emphasizing, verbatim, that "Algeria has continued its positive diplomatic engagement in favor of regional peace and security and has also participated in various Sahelo-Saharan forums to discuss development, security and 'evolution of regional terrorism'.
