On December 9, the daily Fraternité Matin celebrates its 55th anniversary. More than half a century after the publication of its first issue, on December 9, 1964, this canard remains one of the leaders of the Ivorian press and of the sub-region.
For its upcoming anniversary, Venance Konan, the General Manager, hosted a conference last Friday to announce the festivities and the colors of this event, which is being held from December 9 to 21.
Institutions, businesses and the general public are invited to discover and rediscover this body of weight through open days.
A photo exhibition will be organized to tell the story of Fraternité Matin. But better, the life of Côte d'Ivoire, from the first years of independence to date. Not without a look at the evolution of Africa and the rest of the world.
This celebration will also give rise to a reflection on the theme "Between identity withdrawal and Pan-Africanism, what place for the African continental free trade area?". A market of more than a billion people and a GDP estimated at 2,500 billion dollars for the entire continent. This international forum is organized under the aegis of the Association of Public Press Editors of West Africa.
It will also be an opportunity for Fraternité Matin to demonstrate, once again, its know-how through a special 140-page publication in which readers will be entitled to a retrospective and analyzes on major current and future issues. .
A decoration ceremony will be dedicated to several agents for their loyalty and their contribution to the development of this institution. And a donation to the residents of the Marie-Thérèse nursery, a gala dinner, a lagoon trip and a concert will end this commemoration of the 55th anniversary of the creation of Fraternité Matin.
