Startup Beacon Power Services (BPS) has just secured $2.7 million to improve access to electricity in Africa. The Nigeria- and U.S.-based power technology startup has raised $2.7 million in seed round funding. The round was led by Seedstars Africa Ventures with participation from Persistent Energy, Kepple Africa Ventures, Factor[e] and Oridun Capital Management. The funding will allow the company to enhance its current products (product upgrades to add new features and integrate automation) and expand into new markets beyond Nigeria and Ghana, where it currently operates.
