On Tuesday, October 4, an awareness-raising workshop was held for actors in the Central region involved in the standardization and use of metrology instruments for the establishment of the International system of units (SI) in transactions and services in Togo in Sokodé, the capital of the region. This is part of the implementation of the recommendations of the West African Economic and Monetary Union (UEMOA) for the establishment of an international system of unity in Togo, in accordance with the regulations.

Organized by the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Local Consumption, through its Central Regional Directorate, the aim of the awareness workshop is to promote ADH& educating the population in the systematic use of conventional measuring instruments in transactions and services. This awareness-raising has specifically helped the actors present to inform the population about the SI and the conventional measurement instruments while explaining the need to use these instruments and to enlighten the population on the economic impact of the implementation of the international measurement system. For the metrology officer at the High Authority for Quality and Environment (HAUQE), Bebei Bataba Piya-Abalo, acting on behalf of the Minister in charge of Commerce, the establishment SI will increase the purchasing power of both producers and consumers.
