Last November 2, Abidjan Terminal, dealer of the 1st container terminal at the Port of Abidjan, has received two new dock cranes. These gantries are intended to reinforce and modernise its handling equipment fleet, bringing the number to seven (7) wharf gantries owned by Abidjan Terminal.

The new latest dock cranes generation are financed to the tune of 14.6 billion CFA francs. They have a range greater than 47 meters and with a lifting capacity of more than 65 tons, allowing them to operate effectively the ships docking at its docks. Equipped with a OCR system for the automatic identification of containers upon embarkation as at the time of disembarkation, these 100% electric vehicles will contribute to a more efficient operation of the terminal, while reducing its footprint environmental.

The acquisition of the two dock cranes by Abidjan Terminal, is part of the validated five-year investment program by the Port Authority for a total amount of 50 billion CFA francs. Through This program, the company reinforces its modernization strategy by integrating new equipment: RTG, Terbergs, trailers and gantries, intended for optimize its operations and increase the efficiency of its infrastructures. This investment reflects the company's desire to continue its role. to accelerate Ivorian exports and to consolidate its position in as a logistics platform essential to the dynamism of the Port of Abidjan.

According to Asta-Rosa CISSE, General Manager from Abidjan Terminal, “this investment fully illustrates our will to equip the Port of Abidjan with cutting-edge, modern and efficient equipment, capable not only of supporting the constant evolution of port traffic, but also to support, in a sustainable way, the ambitions of the Coast Ivory Coast in terms of logistical competitiveness and exports. He is translating also our commitment to strengthening the attractiveness of the port as a place Abidjanaise, to improve the fluidity and quality of operations, and to offer to economic players with ever more innovative, reliable solutions and adapted to their needs. ”.
