The Unique Tax Identifier (Ifu) is now required to subscribe to the water network in Benin. This is a measure provided for in the new general tax code. The tax code requires the presentation of an IFU number for the subscription to any contract of subscription to the water and electricity networks. This document will also be required for people who want to subscribe to an insurance contract. Customers of banks, credit and microfinance institutions are also concerned.
