The Chadian Ministry of Finance announced on Monday, March 30, 2026, that Vista Group Holding, controlled by Burkinabe banker Simon Tiemtoré, has obtained all necessary regulatory approvals for the acquisition of a majority stake in the capital of Banque Agricole et Commerciale (BAC) of Chad.

Vista Group Holding is initiating its entry into Chad's banking market. The group intends to deploy Vista Bank there in an environment characterized by a low level of financial inclusion and limited access to credit. Following this operation, the West African financial group becomes the majority shareholder of the institution. Details regarding the volume of shares acquired and the transaction amount have not been disclosed.

Through this acquisition of a stake, Vista Group aims to create and deploy Vista Bank in Chad. BAC is expected to be rebranded as Vista Bank Chad.

Vista Group Holding is present in 5 Sub-Saharan African countries through banking subsidiaries in Gambia, Guinea, Sierra Leone, Burkina Faso, and Mozambique. With this operation, it is establishing its first presence in Central Africa. The group aims to expand its network to 25 countries on the continent in the coming years.

The acquisition of BAC is part of this dynamic. It allows the group to access a new market and deploy its banking model in an environment where the demand for financial services still needs to be structured.
