British Actis for the acquisition of its 51% stake in Eneo, the 10
February 2026.
The transaction formalizes the exit of Actis from the capital
of the electricity distribution dealer in Cameroon and opens a
new governance sequence. Payment was made six days before
the contractual deadline set at 16 February, on financing from the budget of
the 2026 fiscal year, confides an authorized source. The operation valued at 78
billion FCFA, concludes more than two years of discussions between Yaoundé and Actis,
acquired a stake in Eneo in 2014. The agreement formalizing the release of Actis was
signed on 19 November at the Ministry of Finance, in the presence of Minister Louis
Paul Motazé, the Minister of Water and Energy Gaston Eloundou Essomba and
of a delegation from the fund. At the end of the operation, the State now owns
95% of Eneo's capital, the remaining 5% being reserved for employees.
